Bill & Melinda Gates’ stance on health care – Impatient Optimism

I received a newsletter from ONE.org to day penned by Melinda Gates.  It informed me that she and Bill have been having great success working to make a difference in Health Care around the world: “When I visited Ethiopia earlier this year, I met Tsion, a hard-working young woman in the government’s Health Extension Program. She is trained to tend to pregnant mothers, who otherwise would rely on traditional attendants unable to stop internal bleeding or resuscitate newborns. Tsion has helped take the terror and fear of death out of childbirth for hundreds of women.“ Melinda asked ONE Members to help “spread Tsion’s story, and others—so more Americans realize our tremendous progress improving health around the world and are moved to...

I’m coming out of the closet today – but in a different way

Yes. It is true. Today is my “coming out of the closet day,” but in a Spiritual way. Today I am making it public knowledge that for the last couple of years, I’ve been meditating and receiving guidance which I’ve kept on the down low because I was instructed to do so (perhaps due to my own fear of what others would think, my own need for growth and/or other reasons). Now, I guess I’ve grown to trust enough to reveal this because today I was guided to bring this into public light. It is a service I’ve performed anonymously with my wife at the site www.askrealitylove.com The site is now a blog and you can read some of the interesting questions others have submitted and the answers we’ve received from...

“As soon as you trust yourself, you will know how to live. ” – Johann Von Goethe

“As soon as you trust yourself, you will know how to live. ” – Johann Von Goethe I got this quote today after having a late night of dealing with buried emotions from my past in a very productive and somewhat intuitive way. Thankfully, I resolved these emotions and saw the incident they were tied to in a whole new light. But this happened only because I was willing to ask for a better understanding. In fact, I asked “if we are put in circumstances for our best and highest development, then why did this happen?” It took a lot of stilling my mind and letting go of urges to seek some external re-source for the answer for me to just be still and allow the answer to come. Finally, I began to see how this incident had caused a clear...

Your True Currency may not be what you think!

I love the daily emails I receive from Wes Hopper of http://ping.fm/19UWJ I’m posting todays’ because it is a great message about what our real currency is. Not money, but something even more powerful: ” ‘If you have an idea, you’re not broke, and the human mind will never run out of great ideas’ Matt Furey Most people, when they need stuff, like money, will wish, pray or vision the wrong thing. They’ll focus on stuff! That’s neither scientifically or spiritually correct. These days both science and spirit are converging on a view of the Universe that no longer sees matter, or stuff, as fundamental. They see that at its deepest level the Universe is formed from consciousness. You can think of that as Mind. And...

Gmail Trouble. Workaround & “What does Gmail’s ’502 Server Error’ page mean”?

Have you seen the Gmail “502 Server Error” page?  Today, at around 4:20PM EST, I saw it for the first time and it basically means the server is overloaded – check back later.  Are you having trouble accessing email.  Gmail is well aware of it, as you can see from the latest blog post on the problem. This is a first for me but I’m sure its not the only time its ever happened to Gmail. After 15 minutes of checking,  I began to wonder if in the future I should use less email fwd accounts and more hosted accounts, given I’m at Gmails mercy. Good news is I’m having success using www.google.com/ig as a workaround. Looking forward to service being restored...

Lessons from Rocks & Sand, Ration & Inspiration

Two stories came to mind today, both involving rocks and sand, that reminded me of interesting lessons. You may have heard the first, but I’d like to recount it here: “A philosophy professor stood before his class and had some items in front of him. When class began, wordlessly he picked up a large empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with rocks right to the top, rocks about 2″ diameter. He then asked the students if the jar was full? They agreed that it was. So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them in to the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles, of course, rolled into the open areas between the rocks. The students laughed He asked his students again if the jar was full? They agreed that yes, it was. The...
